Corey sighed and closed his eyes, walking in to Matt’s open arms, feeling them wrap around his body as Matt cried against his chest. He put his arms around Matt and held him close.

“I forgive you, Matt, but I’m telling you now, if you ever fucking choose someone else over me again, or cheat on me, it’s over. Do you hear me?”

Matt pulled back from Corey’s chest and looked up to see the serious expression on Corey’s face. He nodded, “yes.”

“Good, because if we’re going to be together then all this shit where we sleep with other people needs to stop. Either we’re together or we’re not. If you want to fuck around then you’re free to fuck around because you won’t be my boyfriend anymore.”

“I don’t,” Matt said, “I don’t want to be with anyone else.”

“Not even Kris?” Corey asked, holding Matt so he had to look at him.

“No. I want him to always be in my life as my best friend, but I don’t love him the same way I love you. You’re the only person I want to be with, to spend my life as my lover with, and I realised that this morning.”

“Good, because we’re equal now,” Corey said.

“Equal?” Matt asked.

“Yes. I cheated on you and now you’ve cheated on me. We’re equal. Do you agree?”

“Yes,” Matt nodded, “and I feel terrible for choosing to go with Kris.”

“It’s okay, he’s hot as hell and was offering to suck your cock. I might have made the same decision.”

“Oh yeah?” Matt asked, raising an eyebrow.

“Yes. But let’s not get in to that now. I want to be with you, Matt, and you’ve just said you want to be with me, but I can’t live my life wondering if you had the chance to choose again, would you choose me or would you choose Kris?”

“I would choose you, every time.”

“I’m still not sure,” Corey said.

“What do I have to do to prove I’m serious about us being together?”

“Move in with me,” Corey said without having to think about it.

“What do you mean? We live together,” Matt said.

“No, we room together, with Kris, Colt and temptation just across the living room.”

“Temptation?”

“As long as Kris lives in the same place as we do I don’t think we will ever be truly able to be together in the way you say you want us to be.”

“Why not?”

“Because he always gets between us… Either the two of you fuck around and it messes up our relationship, or Kris and I get jealous of each other because of how close we are to you and how we don’t want to lose you from our lives.”

“So you don’t want us to live with him anymore?” Matt asked.

“To be honest I think it’s for the best. We need to be together, just us, to see if our relationship can really work. We can still be close to everyone else but when it comes to actual living arrangements we need to find a place of our own, which we can do now with the money from your dad and what I’ve saved from work.”

“And you’re serious about this?” Matt asked. “I thought our plans for next year were set, living with Kris and Colt.”

“They were, but I’m not sure it’s a good idea for us to keep living with them.”

“Because you think I’ll cheat on you with them?”

“I don’t think you will cheat, but I know the temptation will be there.”

“So you want to just take the temptation away?”

“Yes. Do you have a better idea?” Corey asked.

“Yes. I think we should still live with them.”

“Why?”

“Because it’s been great living with them, and you’re right, I know we’re both attracted to Kris and Colt and maybe would love to do things with them if circumstances were different, but we’re together, Corey, and if we truly want to be together I think that means facing temptation head on and saying no to it. I think we need to be able to stand up and say we wanted to but didn’t because of the love we have for each other and I think living with Kris and Colt will be the biggest test of how serious we are in this relationship.”

“By keeping our hands to ourselves?”

“Exactly. Just think about it for a second. You want us to move away from Kris and Colt so we don’t lust after them anymore or get the urge to fool around with them. That might work, Corey, but then are you going to keep me away from everyone I ever meet? Am I never going to be able to go out for a drink with people from work when I get a job because you’re scared I’ll cheat on you? That’s no way to live.”

“You’re right about that and I see your point, I don’t want to be worrying about you for the rest of my life, but I also think we need to be apart from Kris and Colt to really see if we can survive as a proper couple.”

“Well, I love you, Corey and I want to be with you, so I’m gonna let you choose and I’ll just go along with it. Do you want to see if we can fight off temptation and live with Kris and Colt for another year? Or do you want us to move out into an apartment of our own so we’re away from everyone else?”
